Ladies Writing Desk. Edwardian c1910.

1 of 5
Ladies Writing Desk
An elegant ladies writing desk, with rosewood veneer.
This stunning veneered writing desk would have been used as a dedicated space to write letters, and tend to paperwork in the home. Its dainty kidney shape, allowed the writer to sit comfortably, with space to rest one's elbow and be closer to the writing surface.
Upon the table top is a leather writing pad. The pad features a beautiful debossed floral arrangement around the perimeter, and shows a rich patina, while remaining in excellent condition. Behind the pad itself, is a recess for resting various writing implements and two further built in storage pots for other stationery or a small ink well.
Both ends of the desk fold down for when they are not in use, and for ease of storage. At the front, a turned key gives access to a pull out drawer, to keep documents more secure and the table top tidy.
Period: Edwardian (C. 1910)
Measurements: W103cm x D47cm x H70.5cm
