Jacobean Style Oak Bedroom Suite, c.1930's
This is an attractive 1930's Jacobean inspired oak bedroom suite comprising a triple wardrobe, a dressing chest and a chest of drawers. It features bands of leaf carvings and barley twist uprights to the dressing table.
The spacious wardrobe has a moulded dentil cornice above three doors which open to reveal two individual full length hanging sections with a shelf and shoe bars, and a shirt hanging section with drawers and a shelf. The central door has a bevelled mirror which is in good condition and each door has brass drop handles, a lock and comes with a key. For delivery and moving it splits into 5 sections the cornice, the base and 3 tall vertical sections.
The dressing chest has a shaped bevelled mirror with carved top and barley twist supports above a nice leaf carved back gallery. The rectangular top has a beaded edge and sits above two short and two long graduated drawers. The drawers have brass drop handles and there are locks to the top drawers and a key. The mirror and the top section can be removed for moving and it has original brass castors to the feet.
The chest of drawers completes the set. Again it has a beaded top edge and locks to the top drawers which can be opened with the same key as the dressing chest. It has two over three short drawers and they all open smoothly.
