A wonderful antique oak coffer on stand with three panelled front and nailed joints ,which indicates a country made piece probably the village carpenter.The coffer had stood the last 50 odd years in a derelict farm outbuilding .it came to me in a very sorry state but has restored to a piece of handsome oak antique furniture .the lock is missing and later hinges .the base I’ve had to strengthen also the lid but nothing visual and it is all sound and sturdy .old signs of worm typical in period oak furniture treated as a precaution.A perfect country hse piece of furniture with beautiful colour and patina which considering the damp moss and ivy on it when salvaged is really amazing
