A rare Gillows Goncalo Alves Book Carrier. I have never seen another one is this rare wood that Gillows sourced from the period 1823-1860’s. The finely turned slender spindles with scrolled support ends are beautiful. Again the carrying handles are of the finest turnings . The base has a beautiful gadrooned decorative moulding . Stood on squashed bun feet .
An absolutely charming exquisite piece of antique furniture.
