A Vernacular Elm and Oak Tavern Settle or Table Bench
This superb country-made settle or table bench is certainly unusual and is quite special as it converts to a table. The wonderful dry oak back boards have been fitted to the superstructure in such a way that they neatly fold over the gorgeously patinated elm seat presenting the back of the settle as a table top. A wonderful design providing a multifunctional piece of antique furniture.
- Superb colour and patina.
- With adjustable back providing a seat back or table top.
- Rustic oak four plank top and elm seat.
- Fixing holes in the arms to hold the table in place.
- Rustic charm at its best.
A dream for a collector. This would be a statement piece amongst a collection of vernacular and primitive country furniture in a country home.
In good condition with rustic quirks throughout, to include a couple of knot holes in the top. Historic signs of woodworm as is so often found in antique elm furniture (all recently inspected and retreated).
