Georgian Mahogany Bureau Bookcase Desk Writing Table
Antique small Georgian (late 18th or early 19th Century origins) mahogany ladies bureau bookcase.
This item has lovely small proportions, and is full of age, charm and character.
Lovely crook shouldered legs with pad feet.....this is a very rare item and so pretty.
Solid with no loose joints and all of the oak lined drawers slide freely.
Great age and patina (not over restored).
Later handles etc., but all are in keeping and look right.
No significant woodworm.
Overall maximum dimensions 63.5cmW x 49cmD x 180cmH (72cmH writing surface).
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, wear, imperfections, repairs and alterations, as is always the way and to be expected with genuine antique furniture. Key to the glazed doors only and the other locks are untested. There are some stains inside the drawers as is to be expected. The bookcase top is possibly later than the bureau (still 19C) and constructed to suit ...this is not a marriage and the way most genuine bureau bookcases came into being.
Please note that this item is large and heavy. Please make sure before buying that it will fit in and can be maneuvered into the room that it is intended for. The customer will need to provide 1 strong able bodied person for our driver to assist with carrying.
