George V Silver Sifter Spoon, Sheffield, 1915
This is a good quality George V Sterling Silver Sugar Sifter Spoon in the traditional Old English pattern with a pierced bowl. The Sugar Sifter is made in Sheffield in a heavy gauge of silver by silversmiths William Hutton & Sons Ltd and dates to 1915. William Hutton & Sons Ltd were in business from the late 19th Century right up to the 1970s with premises in Sheffield, Birmingham and London. There is a letter "H" elegantly engraved at the top of the stem. The hallmarks on the underside of the stem are well struck and clear to read.
The Sugar Sifter is in very good condition with no dings or dents and only the most minimal wear and tear. It would be perfect for sprinkling sugar on your strawberries today or be a great addition to any collection. Please make sure you look at all the photos.
The spoon is 15.3cm long and weighs a very substantial 61.7g of solid sterling silver.
The hallmarks are the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the crown assay mark for Sheffield, the gothic date letter "X" for 1915 and the WH & Ss Ld makers' mark for William Hutton & Sons Ltd.
Shipping in the UK is £6 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
