Gents over-sized Longines wrist watch, 1950

Gents over-sized Longines wrist watch, 1950.
The watch has a good quality 17-jewel hand-winding movement, calibre 12.68Z, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number, 8000829, dates it back to 1950. Longines archives tell us that the watch was invoiced on 6 October 1950 to the company Baume, the UK agent for Longines watches.
The watch measures 38mm which is a really good wearable size, especially for a piece from 1950 when the fashion was for smaller watches. The case is stainless steel and it is in lovely condition. The inside of the case back is signed with the early Longines logo which includes the initials of the founder of Longines, Ernest Francillon. Signed Longines winding crown.
The lens is in lovely condition.
The signed dial is in its original finish, there is a little marking and the smallest amount of unevenness just by number 7. The hands are original although the hour hand looks as though it has been cleaned at some stage, and it is a little bit wavy.
The watch comes on a new leather strap but the Longines buckle has been transferred on to it.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
