French Walnut Library Steps C.1650
A remarkable set of early 17th Century French Walnut Library steps.
The patina of the walnut is simply stunning. Each step has its own character and unique appearance from the use of years gone by a characteristic that cannot be imitated.
At the top of the stair set is an ornate back board section, with a carved relief central flower, flanked by decorative scrolls. At the foot of each step, lies an intricate floral pattern across the width. The base features the same intricate decoration.
A wonderful addition to a library room or study space in the home.
Period: 17th Century (C. 1650)
