French C19th Window Seat & Pair of Chairs Set
This lovely parlour set comprises a matching pair of chairs and a window seat. The pieces have lovely delicately carved wooden frames with original bergere-work seats and backs. They are supported on cabriole legs. All the pieces have beautiful shapes and they are of lovely quality. They look to be of French origins and are probably constructed from some type of fruitwood.
Condition: Overall this handsome set is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and they are overall faded. The pieces are solid with only some minimal movement in the joints. The bergere-work is mainly in good condition with some age related wear. One of the chairs has a small hole to the seat and another small hole to the back. There are some signs of old woodworm in places - this is not active but has been retreated as a precaution.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
Window Seat - 66cm high, 107cm long, 48cm deep (to maximums) 38cm high to seat
Chair - 88.5cm high, 44cm wide, 42cm deep (to maximums) 44cm high to seat. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
