French Bateau Lit Single Beds.
A fine unique pair of late c19th French mahogany Bateau Lits. Unusual in as much as the normal Bateaus have equal height, footboards and have only one show side. These may have been modified but it is not obvious. The foot board is as expected lower than the headboard. Both sides of each bed are fully finished mahogany. The patinas is deep but with a few minor marks as would be expected. As a bonus these have new handmade bases and top quality pocket sprung mattresses size 6’3 x3’ (standard single) finally if required these could be converted to a large 6’ wide Superking bed at additional cost.
