English Queen Anne Walnut Chest of Drawers c.1710

A beautiful English Queen Anne Walnut chest of drawers with stunning, brass, swan neck handles and decorative escutcheons. c.1710
The chest of drawers has a moulded edged top and bottom, a cross banded bordered top with two half width drawers and three full width drawers below. There are very attractive, brass, swan neck handles and decorative escutcheons as mentioned. The chest of drawers is raised on solid, hand made, walnut bun feet.

Condition
In good solid antique condition. However the chest of drawers has a number of scratches, nicks, dings and marks commensurate with its age and use. It responds well to proper waxing.
Owing to its great age, some of the veneered areas of walnut have raised up. Other restoration includes replacing numerous moulding and veneer patches. Some feathering has also been replaced. Also replacing the existing feet with 4 bespoke, solid, hand made, walnut bun feet. The rear lock mechanism is missing from the LHS top drawer. The drawers are all solid and run smoothly. There are are some narrow splits in the base wood of the drawers which is only to be expected given the age of this piece. However the drawers are all very useable. There is a narrow gap on either side of the back planks to the rear of this piece. There are no keys.
