A handsome antique Edwardian mahogany bureau bookcase in Georgian revival design dating from circa 1905. The top with broken arch pediment with pierced ‘Gothic’ open fretwork, flanked by turned finials. With applied fretwork tracery to the top, fall and drawer fronts. The bookcase/china cabinet section with two, five pane, glazed doors with two original adjustable shelves. The base with a fall with leather writing surface the interior fitted with small pigeon holes. Both the top and bottom lock and come with keys. The base with single frieze drawer, above an adjustable shelf, all raised on chamfered feet. A very good quality, well-proportioned example of antique English Edwardian antique furniture.

Good Condition. General wear and marks commensurate with age. Some old mended splits to the vulnerable pierced fretwork of the broken arch pediment. The slide out supports come out automatically when the fall is opened, but one of the supports does not go back automatically in when the fall is closed, so needs to be manually pushed back when the fall is closed again.
