Edwardian Inlaid Mahogany Miniature Chest
This lovely miniature collector's chest dates from around 1910, and is constructed from mostly solid mahogany with ebony and boxwood geomatric inlays. The chest has a glazed door, with securing hook to one side, which opens to reveal four drawers that are graduated in size. The doors have small handles that we believe to be replacements. The door retains its lock, but please note that this does not work and no key is present.
Condition: Overall in very good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. There are some signs of restoration in places - the glass of the door appears to have been replaced at some point, and as is mentioned above the small drawer handles look to be replacements. The lock does not work, and no key is present - the small catch is a later alteration.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 36.5cm high, 23cm wide, 18.5cm deep. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
