Splendid late 19th.c. carved oak kneehole desk c.1890. Desk top with burgundy leather writing surface and carved edge over eleven drawers arranged around a central kneehole. Superb carved front with lion’s mask handles to the drawer fronts and unusual floral detail to the uprights. Designed to stand in the centre of a room as unusually the sides and rear of the desk have further carved detail and shaped mouldings to the panels, the rear having another carved mask at the centre. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops and fitted with a new leather skiver.
