Brynmawr Arts & Crafts Oak Bookcase
An Arts & Crafts Cotswold School 'Gower' solid oak bookcase cabinet designed by Paul Matt for Brynmawr Furniture Co c1930's. The bookcase has a raised chamfered galleried back, divided into three compartments, two having glazed doors, all having a shelved interior and raised on chamfered supports. Distinctive wedge shaped handles and Brynmawr label to the rear.
A really nice clean example of a Brynmawr bookcase, no breaks or repairs and in very good original condition.
121cmH x 140cmL x 32cmD Our stock items are carefully selected by myself and I only buy good quality items which may need small repairs, a clean and a polish. I don't buy any items that need major restoration, but any loose joints are re-glued. Occasionally, some items may have small amounts of historic extinct woodworm, never enough to affect the integrity of the item, and is always treated as a matter of course. We try to describe and show our items the best we can, and we use studio lighting which sometimes lightens the colour slightly on some of the furniture. All lamps are rewired and PAT tested. Every item we sell we would have in our home (some of them have been!!) It is impossible to describe every item fully, so please feel free to email or call for more information or any queries you may have. The items will have no major defects but will show signs of normal age related wear and use. I would prefer the items to show its life rather than strip it and re-polish it, as it's only original once!
