Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Art Deco figured walnut two-door bow wardrobe, boasting a fitted interior, circa 1930, with small proportions, in excellent original condition. Comprising of an elegant Art Deco moulded bow front frame, the 2-door wardrobe boasts an exterior of stunning mirror matched figured walnut veneers to the front and figured walnut to the sides, with a cross banded frame. The doors also boast their original vertical wooden handles. The left-hand door retains its original sliding bolts, top and bottom, to secure the door when closed. The right-hand door retains its original working lock and key. Inside, the wardrobe features a hanging space with hanging rail to the left, with four vertically-arranged open compartments and two glass-fronted drawers to the right. The inside of the left-hand door also includes a fold-out tie rack. At the bottom of the wardrobe is a pair of drawers, which retains the original vertical wooden handles. The wardrobe sits on its original moulded recessed plinth and the back features solid backboards.
This is a single-piece wardrobe. Its narrow width enables easy access into the house and bedroom, and it is ideal for compact rooms, as it consumes very little space.
The item would be at home in any traditional or contemporary setting. This piece boasts classic Art Deco styling in the overall design of the curved moulded frame, corners, clean lines to the tops, the handles and the feet.
This two-door wardrobe features a mellow walnut colour, retaining the original polish. It has a lovely colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

This two-door wardrobe is in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and inside fame, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The wardrobe retains all its original fittings. The doors retain the original vertical wooden handles, door latches, lock and key all of which are in working condition. The doors close flush to the frame – the doors are not warped, which is good. The drawers are smooth running and close flush to the frame. The wardrobe retains its original backboards and it stands on its recessed plinth. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
