Here is an example of a good quality antique Art Deco burr walnut 4ft 6” wide bed, circa 1930, in excellent original condition. This bed fits a standard UK double size mattress (4ft 6” wide by 6ft 3” long). The tall headboard incorporates stunning burr walnut grain configurations veneers across the piece as a whole. Above, there is a pretty central floral pediment and rounded corners to the edges. The headboard is connected (via bolts) to the original detachable metal angle irons, which also support the footboard. The footboard of the bed encompasses a stunning serpentine design, again with stunning burr walnut grain configuration, terminating on a recessed curved banded plinth. The bed dismantles into four sections for easy transport and easy access into your house. The bed boasts classic art deco styling and would be at home in any traditional or contemporary setting and consumes very little space.
