An interesting Arabic all over carved trunk with scenes of an oasis with shepherd tending his flock, a camel with rider and a minaret and other domed buildings to the background. The conforming carved sides retaining the original gilded brass carrying handles which are more for show than use. The front having an unusual hinged locking plate complete with key. The lid lifts to reveal a useful storage area and the whole raised on block feet with cared detail. This trunk would make an ideal coffee table or sit well at the end of a bed as a blanket box.
