This is a very good quality antique English mahogany William IV double scroll end couch, circa 1830 - 1840.

This is a very good quality antique English mahogany Regency / William IV double scroll end couch, circa 1830 – 1840. The frame and bulbous turned legs are constructed of solid mahogany terminating in the original brass socket castors. The frame features attractive up-swept arms with a pretty fluted carved fascia. The couch features a lift up swab cushion. The couch will seat 3 – 4 persons. The fabric is old and torn and would need to be re-upholstered. This would make a great restoration project for the buyer to restore the couch in their preferred pattern or colour to match their home decor. Please note that the photos show the couch prior to restoration and cleaning – the mahogany would come up a lovely rich colour once polished or cleaned. The mahogany frame is solid and in good condition with the original legs and brass castors.
