Superb Victorian Oak Tambour Roll top desk and dating from aorund 1880. Constructed from quality oak with tambour top with brass escutcheon and working key which opens to reveal a variety of letter racks and pigeon holes with two small drawers above a shaped frieze which in fact are sliding pen holders. All above a very nice oak writing surface. To the centre there is a frieze drawer and to the top of each pedastal is a book slide. There are four graduating drawers to one side and two drawers to the other side with a deep false sectional file drawer. All of the drawers are oak lined with oak handles. It stands on a deep plinth base with panelled interior to the kneehole and with panelled sides and back.
The top separates from the base for ease of transporting
