A superb antique Victorian burr walnut Wellington chest of drawers. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1850-1870’s.

It is of absolutely amazing quality and is much larger than most Wellington chests, but still slim. It has stunning burr walnut grain patterns, beautifully turned handles and lovely carved corbels at the top and bottom. It has the usual locking mechanism seen on Wellington chests on one side, and an additional hinged flap on the other side due to its size. The drawers run smoothly and have fine, hand cut dovetailed joints.

We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age. There is just some minor wear remaining beneath the polish here and there, overall this has a gorgeous patina.

This has to be the nicest Wellington chest I have seen & I believe it’s the best example out there.
