Antique Silver Pocket Watch, Chain & Military Fob
Antique silver pocket watch, chain & military fob.
The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the back covers for Glasgow (import mark) 1915 with a sponsor’s mark for the Coventry based Frederick Wright. The case is in good condition, nice crisp engine turned detail to the back along with a central vacant cartouche. The back cover opens so that the watch can be stood up as a travel clock.
The watch has a glass lens, it has light marking across it but very acceptable.
The dial looks good to the naked eye… if viewed through a jeweller’s loupe, there is a very faint hairline under number 10. Pin set hands.
The watch comes on a single silver chain, 34cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. The chain has hallmarks, including the lion passant on each link, but the date letters are difficult to read.
Also included is a silver fob with gilded highlights, 31mm diameter. The fob carries the regiment name, ‘4th Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment’.
The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.
