This is an antique shoe boy's stool. An English, carved oak and upholstered footstool in Art Nouveau taste, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
Delightfully presented stool, with useful storage to the interior
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Select oak stocks present fine grain interest and rich caramel hues
Professionally reupholstered cushion in a quality cotton textile
Traditionally stuffed and of square proportion, the cushion sits at a height of 43.5cm (17.25'')
Removing the cushion reveals the internal storage space
Of tapering form, each fascia accentuated with a superb relief carved frieze
Standing upon a quartet of squat plinth feet
