Antique Seth Thomas hunter pocket watch and chain
Antique Seth Thomas full hunter pocket watch and chain.
The watch has a stem-winding lever set movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed Century, U.S.A. and numbered 952630. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
Between 1884 and 1915 Seth Thomas manufactured a line of jewelled pocket watches. Most of the tooling for the watch factory was built using the production facilities of the Seth Thomas antique clock factory (Seth Thomas was famous for his antique clock manufacturing corporation which was established in 1853).
The watch itself measures 42.5mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and it is in nice condition with just the odd small mark.
The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is a glass lens which is in nice condition.
The signed enamel dial has a hairline crack between 3 & 5 o'clock but otherwise it is in nice condition. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch comes with an albert chain with tassel, 26cm long from clasp to clasp.
The watch and chain will be sent in a new presentation box.

All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the \'Buy Securely\' button on each listing page.
We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
