Antique powder compacts Elgin American
A highly collectible Elgin American powder compact with a silhouette of a lady powdering her face. This is a super addition to any collection & so hard to find. It is a beautiful vintage powder compact with such a stylish lid & a delightful embossed border which separates the lid from the base. The border is beautiful with detailed flowers & ferns. Please see photograph two for a close-up. It is a well made item of quality. Push the exquisite little thumb catch and the opens to show a gilded interior. The mirror gives a very good reflection. The mirror has a few subtle age related marks which in no way detract from the charm of this delightful vanity. The powder well wall is signed "ELGIN AMERICAN". All clasps & hinges work well. The compact is in excellent condition. The base is smooth gold tone. The whole compact has a gorgeous deep patina.
