Antique Paperweight Desk Ornament Automotive
Antique Paperweight Desk Ornament Automotive Racing Overtones '1918 "Nickums" 1920'
This is an antique paperweight or desk ornament from the early 20th century.
The aesthetically pleasing, turned walnut mount is reminiscent in form of an early automotive component complimenting the seal like qualities of the silver "L H" motif held in the top. Underneath the original leather is there to protect the desk or shelf where it is to be displayed.
Bearing hallmarks from the London Assay Office it is marked as sterling silver dating to 1917-1918 and carries a makers mark of "CB" possibly Charles Boyton. Also engraved into the rim is the inscription '1918 "Nickums" 1920'.
Simply a really nice desk ornament with some history attached.
