A simply charming late Victorian novelty desk set / inkwell featuring a gilded bronze kennel as the inkwell with a hinged lid revealing a glass liner within.

The kennel stands on a red leather covered base and is mounted with a little barrel with folding handle which would be storage for extra pen nibs a rope holder to the rear which houses the original Scottish Agate seal and a matching pen sits on the side.

Out of the kennel appears a dog on a chain complete with his water bowl to the side he spots his two original glass eyes.

A truly wonderful addition to any collection or desk-top. 5 1/2" x 3" x 3 3/4" tall.
