A wonderful Victorian wooden & brass book rest dating to around 1880, perfect for the Library but would equally look at home in the kitchen.

It's angle can be easily adjusted by moving the easel back up or down the ridges. The front is highly decorative with pierced and engraved panel to the centre, with the two weights on the page holders being weighed by heavy brass terminals.

Excellent condition having been professionally re-polished to gleam, the footprint measures 10 3/4" x 8 3/4". The book displayed measures 7 1/4" x 5" closed as in the photograph.
