A wonderful Victorian combined inkstand and postage or letter scales dating to around 1860, unmarked, but the quality and style lead us to believe that they are by the famous Sampson Mordan.

The base is made from solid Walnut, the front have a carved out pen tray. Everything about this example is quite wonderful with the intricate top-quality engraving to the scale, inkwell lids and the complete set of weights. The large weight is even marked with V.R for Victorian Reigns.

All in superb condition, the base measuring 10 1/2" x 8".
