Antique Console Table / Writing Desk Late 1700’s
A mahogany console table/writing desk from the Regency Period (late 1700’s/early 1800’s)). Comprising of a single frieze drawer with original turned, mahogany knobs and pretty, brass escutcheon. The table sits on slender, fluted legs ending in original brass castors. In beautiful, authentic condition having a rich patina that only centuries of wax, polish and care can achieve.
Measures: Height 76 cms, Width 75 cms, Depth 56 cms The Retro Business evolved out of our love of auctions and our interest in interiors, furniture, art, textiles. We’ve been dealing for many years now. We love the clean lines, the craftsmanship and designs of the Mid 20th C but are also unable to resist the allure of ‘smart’ antique pieces, rustic country items, wonderful French gilt furniture, in fact anything that catches our eye. We’re firm believers that interiors should always be eclectic and that nothing works better than a mixture of periods in a room.
We sympathetically restore a lot of our items ourselves but in keeping with our ethos we will never ‘over restore’ or destroy a patina that has taken years to develop (i.e our French gilded items will proudly wear their signs of history but all joints will be sound & drawers will move well.)

Shipping information
We can deliver to mainland UK generally within 14 working days. We use professional & reliable couriers who will happily help you place your item in it’s desired position but they will require some assistance. Please get in touch with your post code for a delivery quote (delivery to London and surrounding area is £60). For our smaller items we use parcel courier. Packages will be insured and tracked. We tend to use recycled packaging materials if at all possible & we’d urge you to re-use/recycle them.
Terms and conditions
Should, in the unlikely case, you change your mind upon receipt of an item we accept returns within 14 days with buyer paying return shipping. Refunds will be issued upon safe return of the item in the condition it was sent.
