This is a wonderfully colourful and characterful Afshar carpet from South East Persia, which dates from the early 20th century. The rug has quite a quirky design with a mid indigo field of tribal motifs centred by two stepped medallions framed by colourful stylised boteh borders. It is in good order throughout and measures 180 cms by 145 cms.
