An antique Chopard galonne cased pocket watch
An antique Chopard galonne cased pocket watch.
The watch has a good quality stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed LUC for Louis-Ulysse Chopard, a watchmaker from the Swiss village of Sonvilier who in 1860 founded the company that still bears his name. The movement is protected by a signed inner hinged cover upon which are images of medals won in the late 1800s and also details of the movement.
The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 800 silver with a rose gold wash around the edge. It is in very nice condition and the engine turned detail to the back is still nice and crisp. The inside of the case back has the Swiss hallmarks and the LUC stamp.
The acrylic lens is in good condition.
The signed dial is in good condition and the shaped hands are a nice feature. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE.
