A World War 1 era silver pocket watch and chain

A World War 1 era silver pocket watch and chain.
The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 48mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for Glasgow (import mark), 1917 with a sponsor’s (or importer’s) mark for James Weir. As well as being an importer, James Weir was a watch manufacturer, chronometer maker to the Admiralty, jeweller and silversmith with premises in Argyle Street and Buchanan Street, Glasgow. The case is in good condition with just a little unevenness to the back, nothing serious at all. The engine turned detail is still nice and crisp.
The watch glass is in good order.
The white enamel dial is in lovely condition and the Breguet style hands are a charming feature.
The watch comes with a silver chain, 27mm long including the T-bar and the clasp. The chain is later in date than the pocket watch but they sit very nicely together. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
