A remarkable piece of 18th century Welsh Furniture, from Glamorganshire, a gloriously patinated oak chest on chest of unusual form. The detachable cornice has a charming blind fret frieze above five tiers of drawers as opposed to the more usual four. The base has a series of short drawers around a central fielded panel door, rather like a kneehole desk. The colour is a striking golden brown with darker variations.
