A Superb Victorian Burr and Figured Walnut Davenport having the most wonderful mellow colour and patination. The hinged Piano top that opens up to reveal a pull out green leather writing surface with gilt tooled decoration, of which is original to the piece, this lifts up to house writing papers etc, there are also 2 small drawers along with a pen trays and an ink bottle compartment. The pop up top activated by a hidden button - opens to show a collection of vertical pigeon holes made to the highest standard with fret carved decoration. To the base is a panelled back and 4 working drawers to the right side of which are replicated by dummy drawers to the left, all drawers are mahogany lined, retain the original handles, brass escutcheons and locks. Finished to the front with scrolled carved supports, the whole raised on squat bun feet with inset castors. Excellent condition throughout.
