Made of solid and well figured oak by Shapland & Petter, this hallstand has a wealth of Arts and Crafts/Art Nouveau features. There are repousse copper panels of floral design, eight sinuous hooks, heart shaped piercings to the slats and a pointed mirror that is echoed in piercings to the sides.

It is illustrated on page 125 of Daryl Bennett's definitive book, 'Shapland & Petter of Barnstable'.

There are, however, a few imperfections the cornice has an old scorch mark, a couple of screws have snapped off flush on one side and there is a slight inconsistency to the sheen of the finish on the sides where some fading has occurred.
