A mid-size 1950s Baume wristwatch
1950s Baume wrist watch.
As well as supplying watches under their own name, Baume was also the UK importer of Longines watches.
The watch has a hand-winding movement, FHF 28 with 21 jewels, which is working nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed with the Baume name.
The watch measures 30mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs so it is classed as midsize and would suit a man with a slim wrist. The case is plated with a stainless steel back. The inside of the screw-on case back is signed with the Baume name and the outside of the case back has a former ownerâs initials and the year 1958. There is some light marking to the plate but overall very acceptable for such an early piece.
The lens is in lovely condition.
The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands, centre seconds hand and an outer minute track.
The watch has a new black leather strap.
