This substantial Arts & Crafts oak bureau bookcase has an arrangement of shelves and a glazed cupboard above a fall front that opens to reveal a fitted interior. Beneath are two drawers and a double cupboard with panelled doors. It stands on bracket feet and has a dentil moulded cornice and a planked back. The two long shelves are adjustable. It has familiar Liberty brass ring handles and glass bullions.

This bureau bookcase bears both a red paper label and a enamelled label for Liberty & Co. and it is illustrated in their 'Handook of Sketches' from 1889.

It measures 132cm wide, 50cm deep and 206cm high.

It is in overall very good condition with minor knocks in keeping with its age. The original finish has been revived and the glazing is intact.
