A 1930s silver Buren pocket watch
A 1930s silver Buren pocket watch retailed by J G Graves Sheffield.
The watch has a nice quality stem-winding movement which is working well. The movement has been identified as a Buren and is stamped 15 jewels, Swiss made. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 49 mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the loop. The case has Birmingham hallmarks for 1930 with the case makers mark A.L.D. (Dennison Watch Case Co Ltd ). The case has light surface marks and some wear to the engine turned detail on the back from use and some bruising to the back but otherwise it is in nice condition. The inner case back is inscribed To Francis D Smith from His Farther on the occasion of his 21st birthday December 26 1934.
The glass lens is in nice condition.
The double sunk white enamel dial is signed with the retailers name J G Graves Sheffield. The dial is in nice condition.
The watch has its original blued steel hands.
