A 17th Century Refectory Table. %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
A 17th century English refectory table constructed from oak and elm. The table is a one piece table, so the top does not detach. The base of the table has large bulbous turned legs joined by large chunky stretchers, the front top rail carved with a guilloche design. The top has wavy elm boards with mitred cleats all the way round, the boards on the top also have an abundance of graffiti, with the names, initials along with dates of previous people who have sat at the table. The surface patina of this table has the most wonderful colour and shows a few restorations here and there, but it is in excellent condition and it very robust.
