19thc Chinese superb quality padouk cabinet
A late 19th century Chinese superb quality profusely carved padouk (or Chinese hardwood) display cabinet.
This cabinet consists of a superbly carved and pierced shaped pediment to the top with carved Chinese symbols including dragons and exotic fruits & flowers with a carved gadrooned moulded edge below.
This leads down to an arrangement of asymmetrical shelves, carved with cherry blossom designs to the edge, the back panels being carved and pierced with various naturalistic landscape scenes with foliate carving and exotic flowers & fruits.
The supports to the front and back are superbly and profusely carved with dragons and exotic flowers.
The lowers section has a cupboard consisting of two profusely carved doors with original handles and lock, both having a geometric and floral carved border with central panels of carved branches of cherry blossom.
This leads down to a carved base, with a carved gadrooned moulded edge with a carved and pierced frieze below leading down to four ball and claw feet.
This cabinet is in excellent condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home. LVS Decorative Arts is a family run business specialising in an eclectic mix of fine quality and decorative antiques from around the world.
