Large 19th Century French Cherry Coffer or Marriage Chest

This Chest is a large piece it is made in thick Cherrywood, so very heavy and stable, it has 2 Large panels on the front with pretty scaloped bottom edge, it has a 3 plank cleated top with slightly chamfered corners at the front

The chest is in good all round condition, it is a handsome piece offering a great amount of storage, there is evidence of old woodworm, this has been dead for many years and adds to the character

The coffer is 59” x ’’ long, 24’’ deep and 29’’ high.
