1920s/30s Thomas Russell pocket watch
1920s/30s Thomas Russell pocket watch.
The watch has a 10 jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed Thomas Russell & Son, Liverpool.
Thomas Russell & Son was a well respected business having achieved a Royal Warrant as watch and antique clock makers to the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.
In 1881 the company started importing movements from Switzerland, such as the one we have in this particular watch.
The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated. There is some rubbing but the base metal is brass so very similar in colour.
The acrylic lens is in good condition.
The signed white enamel dial has some damage by number 5 and a couple of short faint hairline cracks. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
