18th C Oak Pot board Dresser Base
This is an English country farmhouse Pot board Dresser Base.
Made of oak, it has 2 wide drawers, a cleated plank top, and a full depth pot board base below. The turned legs terminate in bracket feet below the pot board.
It would date to the last quarter of the 18th Century.
The drawers have their original pine linings. Shrinkage cracks to the base of each drawer have been taped and well sealed.
There are springy wooden wedges fitted underneath each drawer which act as stops to prevent the drawers from pulling too far out of the casing when open.
Very good deep colour and patination. Wax finish
