17th Century Oak Bible Box Bureau %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
We have the real pleasure of being able to offer for sale a lovely very decorative and rather imposing 17th century oak Bible box bureau dating to somewhere between 1660 to 1690.

This very characterful late 17th century bible box bureau consists of a ornately carved bible box extending to a writing/reading slope over a base containing a single drawer over turned legs terminating in bun feet held together low stretchers. Opening the Bible box reveals a fitted interior. The carving to the sides of the Bible box bureau component match the carving to the front of the drawer.

This is a piece of antique furniture that is extremely tactile and oozes a sense of history.

The Bible box bureau is 41 inches (104cm) high, 27 inches (68.6cm) long and 16.5 inches (41.9cm) deep. The Bible box Bureau is in a good condition with wear consistent with its age including a little bit of long dead but treated to make sure worm damage to the back of the box and to the back of the rear legs.
