17th Cent Oak Panelled Coffer, Chest.
A very attractive late 17th cent oak coffer. This has a lovely old colour, the result of traces of the original, red ochre colouring showing through the old polished surface. The three front panels have their original arcaded carving. The coffer stands on its original full height legs and has its original candle box in the interior. It is in excellent, strong condition. Sizes: 41”(105cms) wide, 18”(46cms) deep, 24 ½ “(62cms) high. Date circa 1680.
I have reluctantly decided that after 60 years spent in this marvellous business it is, figuratively speaking, time to hang up my cheque book.
