Set in a 3000 acre estate, the 18 th century Elizabethan House with Edwardian interior holds an extensive collection including silver, fine English furniture, costumes and domestic textiles. There’s a gentleman’s library, and a state bed dating from 1600’s. You don’t have to be a member to stroll around the deer park amongst groves of ancient trees, see fallow deer, quirky architectural features such as the slaughter house and there’s a 400 year old restored working saw mill. Rest and fuel up in Café or restaurant; there’s also an Ice Cream Parlour and shop. Opening times – Park : 8am – 6pm. Eighteenth Century House (charges for non NT members) : 11am – 5pm; Closed Thursday and Friday; Last entry one hour before closing, or dusk if earlier. Garden (charges for non NT members) : 10.30 am – 4/5pm. Closes at dusk if earlier than stated time. Shop and Café : 10.30am - 4/5pm. Note - Stables restaurant - Stops serving hot food 2.30pm daily.
