A charming World War I era fully hallmarked 9ct gold locket. A high quality antique which was tested for purity at Birmingham Assay Office in 1915. Both sides are ornamented with acanthus leaves and forget-me-nots. A shield cartouche graces the front of the locket.

These motifs symbolise everlasting life (acanthus leaves), true love and respect (forget-me-not flowers) and a desire to protect the wearer of the locket (shield).

The locket is in super condition with the original frames, clear portrait protectors and black paper inserts. The locket opens and closes perfectly.
