This is a Late Victorian Table believed to be of Australian origin. It consists of mainly Pine but having oak cross rails where strength is needed. This table was painted once but this has worn off during use and revealed the most beautiful coloured timber with a patina of great beauty showing timber to its best. We are not completely sure the use this table once had but have had suggestions it may have been a cobblers or similar we do believe it was belonging to some trade. It certainly is a very unusual and unique piece the top lifts off revealing a full length drawer with compartments this can then be slid out either end and this has timber rollers to assist with this see Photo 4, underneath that is 2 other drawers with stepped interiors. This table is all original no alterations and all coming apart as it should to enable its use. We would recommend viewing to fully appreciate this piece, its construction, charm and character.
